Wetlands of South AfricaAbstract South Africa's three grebe species are discussed in terms of their biogeography, their distribution, status and numbers, their breeding habits, and their habitat requirements. The grebes are generally distributed in South Africa. However, in terms of numbers and size, it is concluded that the grebe's in South Africa contribute little to the avian biomass of South African wetlands.GI Cowan (ed).1995.
